Many years had passed, like a gust of wind blowing across the hill, that sat on Commonwealth Close. This is where I had spent all the years growing up. Remembered the times when I was playing along the corridor of 6th floor Blk 82..in fact i was always looking forward and wanting to come to your place, as this was where I found comfort and felt the fatherly love. Though I was without a father before I could utter the first word, I never felt like one because of you. You showed me what a gentleman was and was always looking up to you. Always giving out valuable advices and guidances as I grew up. Another reason why I loved coming to your place was because of the sunny-side up eggs with bacon and baked beans that you prepared. This was the best western meal I ever had, in fact the only western food I had growing up. You would never raise your voice when angry, the only action you did was clenching your fist and biting your pointing finger while pointing at me with the other pointing finger. Thinking back it was kind of amusing. I remembered clearly that everytime I came to your place, more often than not, you were holding a pair of drumsticks drumming and beating on your knees, to the rythm of imaginary tune in your mind, a true blue jazz musician you were. Rest in peace, beloved Uncle Phan. You are liberated and free, moving on to a whole new place where there is no sufferings and pain, only joy and peace prevail. While you are there watching over all of us, continue to bless and guide us all. Thank you Uncle Phan.
